Superdrug Haul!

Superdrug Haul!
Saturday, 10 March 2018
Read post

Hey loves, so I recently have been spending some £££ in Superdrug and I wanted to show you what I purchased! If you would like to see these products In action, watch this video or click the video above to see how they perform! I have included a picture of the swatches below, so please feel free to scroll to the bottom of the page to check them out! S x

1. First up, these wonderful foundation sticks from L'oreal. The shades are 140 (right) and 220 (left). I use the 140 shade for my foundation and I use the 220 for bronzing the skin. I think these are super creamy and blendable. The coverage is medium but buildable. In comparison to the infallible foundation in the glass bottle, its a little less coverage in my opinion but it still looks like skin. This does not budge all day and works wonders. My bronzing shade is a little on the orange side but if you go easy with the application, it can add a nice bronzed touch to your skin.

2. Next up is this concealer from L'oreal. This is the infallible 24 hour concealer pomade! This looks exactly like MAC's soft ochre paint pot but has the coverage of the NARS soft matte concealer. It's extremely full coverage, blendable and dries to a soft matte finish. This is probably going to be one of my FAV concealers!

3. To start off my little Barry M haul, I have these lip kits which are dupes for the Kylie Cosmetics lip kits (or so I think!). The shades are HUN (left) and BESPOKE (right). Hun is a very pale nude with pinky undertones and bespoke is a muted pink/purple. I have watched these and you will be able to see them further down the post! The texture is very thin and applies very smoothly. They dry down within a minute but can settle into the lines in your lips. My advice would be to wear a balm underneath so they're not super dry. They do not crackle or budge however! After the swatches, I had to literally scrub my hand! The lipliners are SUPER creamy, I love them! Lovely product with a balm!

4. Quite possibly my favourite buys from my haul! These are the Barry M holographic eyeshadow toppers. Shades in the middle photo from left to right: Asteroid, Supernova and Luna. These are a creamy formula that apply beautifully with the doe foot applicator. I'm kind of over the holographic trend, I think it was taken a litttttle bit too far but when eyeshadows are concerned, I'm never over the magical holographic look! These have a lovely duo chrome colour to them and really make your eye look interesting. Again, these do not budge and will stay put. You can also use these for lip toppers (if you want to!) and for a base for glitter, during the festival season! They are slightly glittery and are PERFECT for a funky eye look. I believe there is one more shade I need to get my hands on, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE!!

I hope you enjoyed this little haul! I forgot to photograph the bottom shade of the swatches. It's the crushed jewels eyeshadow base from Barry M in the shade of 'pillow talk'. I will however be doing a separate video once I have the whole collection so keep your eyes peeled! Don't forget to check out my video to see them live in action. What should I pick up from Superdrug next?

Makeup Steal Sunday: Collection Glam Crystals

Makeup Steal Sunday: Collection Glam Crystals

Read post

To start off my Makeup Steal Sunday, I am going to write about a product that I have had in my makeup collection for a long ass time! If you haven't seen these little guys whilst browsing in your local drugstore, I really recommend heading to the collection stand and having a browse. These wonderful glitter liners are perfect for eyeliner, as an eye base and even for your lips! They add a delicate touch of glitter to any look, at a very inexpensive price. At £2.99 a pop, you cannot go wrong!

The slick liner applicator makes it super easy to achieve a glitter winged liner, whilst also giving precision if you wanted to use this product as a glitter top coat. The colour pigmentation isn't super strong upon initial application, however it is buildable and doesn't dry to a glittery crackly mess! I find that the best way to use this product is to apply your normal liner and use this product as a top coat to really make the look POP. Some of the more pigmented shades (Le Freak especially!) can stain the skin so just be mindful of this. You don't want to use this on the night before work!

I believe Collection are slowly realising more shades in this range, and as they are so inexpensive it would be rude to not pick them up. So far, I love my little collection and they are such wonderful pieces to have in your makeup collection. They can bring your look to life, whilst being subtle at the same time. I love the formula, the applicator and packaging. I cannot rave about these gems enough!

Have you tried these before? what are your thoughts?

New Concealers from Makeup Revolution!

New Concealers from Makeup Revolution!

Price: £4.00
Size: 3.4ml / 0.11 fl oz
Purchase at Superdrug or TAM beauty

Hello loves,
So straight into 2018 we have a new product launch from Makeup Revolution. I'm sure that if you are a beauty fanatic you will have heard of them by now. I love them because they release dupes for higher end products, just for a much smaller price tag! Now I'm sure we have also heard of the famous Tarte Shape tape concealer. Well by the looks of things, makeup revolution have been hard at work to create a dupe for that concealer and this is the final product!

I was super excited to try this new product from Makeup revolution and sadly I wasn't able to instantly get my hands on it because it had been sold out online! So I fancied my chances, popped into Superdrug and thankfully there was a beautiful new display of these concealers and I was able to get my hands on them! The shades i managed to get my hands on were C5 and C4.

There are 18 shades to choose from and this has been deemed to be the 'concealer for everyone' ranging from warm, cool and neutral undertones! Makeup revolution describe the concealer to be a

"Lightweight yet full coverage concealer to cover blemishes, even skin tone and counteract dark circles, with a matte finish that won't settle or accentuate fine lines and pores. Long wearing intense pigment that can also be used to contour and add definition. Our large doe foot applicator allows for smooth application that won't drag on the delicate skin under your eyes".
Packaging wise, it looks very presentable and I love the rose gold plastic component. More impressively, I love the big doe foot wand to apply the concealer! If you prefer a smaller doe foot to apply your concealer, don't be put off because you still have control over how much you would like to apply!

The first thing I noticed about applying the concealer, was that it wasn't too thick or thin, it wasn't too wet or dry, It was perfect. The texture is very smooth and upon application it does have a lovely medium coverage. The main difference I had noticed was the shade difference. It appears that C5 has more of a warm tone whereas C4 has more of a pink cool tone. I have been mixing the shades together as the undertones are just slightly off for me, but as a duo they work well!

C5 (left) C4 (right)

So whilst I was scanning the rest of my concealers in my collection I wanted to try and compare shades from other brands with the makeup revolution concealers! The comparison concealers all match my skin tone and they're ones I use interchangeably. I usually use these concealers when I am tanned and of course I have not got any fake tan on in these pictures, so if you are wondering why some look slightly different thats why! The collection one and the NYX one look slightly off because they have oxidised like mad!

Now lastly, I want to touch upon whether the product works or not. I go to different brands for different products. NARS has always been my go to for base and face products, MAC is my go to for lip products and Makeup revolution is my go to for eyeshadow products. Truthfully, I do not rate Makeup revolution for their base and face products, they just do not work with my skin. Now when this concealer came out, I was super excited to try it because of the hype surrounding it (I'm not alone I know you guys have done the same before!).

I have to say after trying this product, Makeup revolution has gone up in my estimations for their face products. This product applied and blended beautifully. If you want an extra bit of coverage, let it dry for a few seconds and then blend away. The texture is very smooth and it looks like skin! I would say the coverage is light to medium but buildable, thanks to the beautiful skin like texture. I do not think it is full coverage but I would say you can get a nice level of coverage if you build it. To demonstrate the coverage, I applied a dab to my tattoo and blended it in like I usually would. You can see it has covered some of the ink, but not enough to be fully coverage.

All in all, if you are looking for a new concealer I would recommend trying this one out. It applies and blends like a dream. It does not oxides which I thank the high heavens above for! It also has a lovely texture and appearance on the skin, but if you want super duper coverage - this is not the one. I personally do not think high coverage and skin like texture goes hand in hand, I think you can pretty much get one or the other! For only £4, it is worth trying this concealer out because it may be your next ride or die product. In terms of the product size, 3.4ml is way below average of the normal size concealer which tends to be around 7-9ml, but again for £4 I really do not mind.

Please let me know your thoughts - everyone has different experiences and ways of trying products so I would love to hear them!

Glam Halloween Makeup tutorial: Mermaid PART 1/2

Glam Halloween Makeup tutorial: Mermaid PART 1/2

Hey lovers!

So Halloween is just over a month away and I wanted to get up 2 types of videos. 1 video was going to be a glamorous non scary fancy dress look, which is of course this one, and also a gore look with blood n shiiii.... I stepped out of my comfort zone with these two looks and created them from scratch and its safe to say I am so glad I did. I loved creating both looks and found that actually I can make these things when I put in time and effort. I wanted both of these looks to be affordable!

I wanted  to create something glam, pretty and glittery and I feel like this look incorporated just that. I wanted to stick to the blue, purple and pink basis with glitter. Of course if you recreate this look you can tailor it to your own colours but these were super girly.

Hair

♥  To create the dark blue I used a colour from smiffys and its the hair and body spray in neon blue. This is also UV activated

♥  For the light baby blue I used a colour from FUDGE in the shade called 'turquoise forever'. I also used this shaded to create my kylie jenner inspired hair!

Products that will save you the money

Instead of me writing some stuff about what I used, which I mentioned in the video, im going to note down what will save you money!

♥  Save money on face paint - I used three lipsticks from makeup revolution, a blue and a pink. This cost £2 for both of these beauties, which is roughly the same as 1 pot of good paint! These are super saturated and gorgeous colours! +++++ you don't need to buy 3 colours... mix colours together to create your own shade.

♥  Save money on the stencils - I didn't use stencils for the scales, I just used an old net. You could use fish net tights which will also stay on your head a lot  better than mine did!

♥  Save money on sponges - I used a washing up sponge. It has a soft side to apply the lipstick and a rougher side to stipple on glitter and other colours. cut them into pieces for different uses! You can also cut them into different shapes if you have the patience.

My August Makeup Wishlist

My August Makeup Wishlist
Wednesday, 19 August 2015
Read post
So I have recently been saving some money and not splurging on makeup, fashion etc. (The usual)... firstly, can I get an applaud please ;) ... So I figured that instead of spontaneously splurging on products, I would create a monthly blog post dedicated to a makeup wish list. Here you will find out about the products I have been craving. Even though I may not order these, its still nice to wish eh? As always, I highly recommend using YouTube or Google to see reviews and swatches of products before you buy to hopefully make up your mind.

Beauty Bay Homepage

Beauty Bay is one of my favourite shops to buy from. They stock brands ranging from Anastasia Beverly Hills to Zoeva. So lets take a look at what I've been wanting to get my hands on.

OCC Perpetually Pink Test Tube Stained Gloss Set 3x4.2ml
£15.00
OCC Lip Tar Matte in shade FEMME 9ml
£13.00

For the simple reason that I have never tried an OCC product before and buying three glosses with a free lip brush doesn't seem to bad eh? I love pink colours and I have heard so much about these its rather tempting to checkout with these guys.
I also love matte lips especially with dewy skin its the perfect combination. Again with the pink colours, I wanted to try the colour 'femme', which is a pretty baby doll pink colour with peachy and coral undertones. Again, I have heard amazing things about the matte tars.
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Perpetually Pink Test Tube Stained Gloss Set
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Matte

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette
£15.50

This one definitely does not need any explaining. If you are a makeup junkie like myself, you will be hypnotised by the warm truffle like colours in this palette. With a combination of shimmers and matte shades, its the perfect palette for summer and the cooler months. At only £15.50 for 10 shadows, I may have to follow through to the checkout with this one. After seeing this palette on YouTube, it warms my heart strings, and certainly is hypnotic. ZOEVA Cocoa Blend Palette
St Tropez Skin Illuminator in Gold 50ml
£10.50  £8.93

Now of course with St Tropez being one of the leading tanning brands, creating an illuminator to go with your tanned goddess skin shouldn't be too hard huh? This is mainly the reason why I want to try this (not the fact its on sale I swear :| ) I would love to try this as the swatches seem fantastic.

Stila eyes are the window shadow palette - ' Mind '
£30.00

I have seen this on shaanxo's beauty channel and was in love with this matte palette. The shades seem to be perfect transition shades. Although the price is slightly off putting, £30 for 12 eye shadows is not too bad considering the quality from Stila.

Backstage Lashes | NEW BRAND ALERT!

Backstage Lashes | NEW BRAND ALERT!
Sunday, 2 August 2015
Read post

Hello everyone
I feel like im on a blogging roll today... perfect sunday! So today I am going to be talking about a brand of lashes that I have been using for the past week. If you watch me on YouTube, you will know I am a big fan of VIVI collection lashes on ebay! But recently I was sent some lashes from this brand and I think my eyelashes have changed forever! These are only £6.00 and Backstage beauty are based in the UK. All lashes come with adhesive.
So heres a bit about them:

Backstage Beauty has been created by glamour makeup artist Tashan Cian. The Backstage Eyelash range was created with the vision of creating a small range of high quality lashes to complete a variety of makeup looks. After years of using other brands of lashes on photoshoots and for clients we noticed that most of the eyelashes that where available on the market where out-dated and had overly extensive ranges which where both confusing and mind boggling to customers.

After getting feedback from clients and other makeup artists we decided to design a range of high quality lashes but name them after “party destinations” after all that’s when we like to look our best. In our range we have lashes like the Chelsea lash which are more soft and wispy to suit more of a natural look and the vegas lash which are full and impactful for our ultra glam lash wearers out there. We have tried to cater to all different eye shapes and styles of makeup to create a small but simple range of wearable lashes.

| LINKS TO PRODUCTS & WEBSITES |

Hollywood Lashes
These are the lashes I have been wearing the most. The lashes are very whispy and feather light. The lashes are thicker towards the lash band, but about half way down the lashes, they are thinner to give you that flirty lash. These give you full lash impact without being too heavy and dramatic. These are one of my favourites because I love my lashes long and whispy. These lashes will make your eyes look super large and big!
Below you can see a silver/blue look I created using these lashes.

Chelsea Lashes
I haven't worn these lashes as much as the others just because I love having a slightly thicker lash, in the tear duct area. For the days when I feel like having a sultry, feline cat eyeliner, these are the lashes I go to. Due to them being shorter at the front of the lash and longer at the end, they make the eyes look more sultry and sexy. The lashes are still long enough to see over the cat eyeliner. These are very much like the Hollywood lashes, but are more natural looking.

Soho Lashes
These are by far my favourite lashes. They are super unique and will give you a beautiful finish to the eye. Towards to the end of the lashes, they are much shorter blending perfectly. The lashes are much longer and tapered in the middle of the lash. This will make your eyes look more round and bigger. This is perfect for a 'natural' makeup look, that will still give you full lash impact, but will also look subtle.

| Quick Snippet into the lashes |
  • Only £6.00. Around the same price mark as Eyelure, Revlon etc.
  • UK based brand.
  • The glue really works which is impressive as most lashes either come with no glue or the glue does nothing.
  • The lash band is not visible on the eye and it does not damage and/or dig into the lash. They are very comfortable.
  • They are reusable as long as you take care and clean them every so often.
I love these lashes and they will always be in my lash drawer. I am very excited to see where this brand goes and I know they are going to be big.

Kate Moss Nude Matte Lipstick Range

Kate Moss Nude Matte Lipstick Range
Wednesday, 22 July 2015
Read post
Hey everyone. Recently, Kate moss has released another addition to her existing Rimmel line. Specialising in the lipstick section, KM has designed her own lipsticks ranging from subtle nudes to electric reds, which all have mainly a semi-matte/matte formula. She has now released the 3 essential matte nudes to her collection. The shades are 40, 43 & 45. Alongside the 'dare to bare' nude lipsticks, she has also brought out her own nail varnishes. The lipsticks are supposed to wear for up to 8 hours with their long lasting formula. Each shade is meant to compliment a certain skin tone.

They are available from superdrug, boots and feel unique etc. Sadly I am not able to locate these lipsticks online as they have sold out buy keep an eye out here: http://www.superdrug.com/brandshop/rimmel

Buy One Get The Second 1/2 Price on selected Rimme

Packaging wise, the products do feel slightly cheap. I don't know if that's because I am so used to my MAC lipsticks, but the plastic isn't really to my taste. However I am a big fan of the nude outer packaging with Kate's signature. They are travel friendly and the lid is secure so you don't have to worry about the lid popping off in your handbag.

In terms of formula the lipstick is very creamy. It doesn't appear matte in the bullet but as soon as it hits the lips, it does turn matte after a few minutes, although it still has a slight shine to it. The formula sits very comfortably on the lips. The lipsticks also own a cupcake/vanilla scent. One thing I was disappointed with was the amount of lipstick. They almost reminded me of tester lipsticks. Compared to other lipsticks, they are much shorter. As for the long levity of the formula, it does not last up to 8 hours. As its very buttery and comfortable on the lips, it lasts around an hour or two... that's without eating/drinking. Im not too impressed with that as the lipstick claims to last a lot longer.

SHADE 43:
I would describe shade 43 as a beige toned nude. This would look beautiful on all skins tones however I think would appear more orange on fair skin. This would look amazing with a copper/bronze smokey eye with bronzed skin.

SHADE 45
Shade 45 is a pink toned nude. This almost reminds me of blankety from MAC.. It's a your lips but better colour. It could pass off as a Kylie Jenner Lip colour.  Its a really delicate nude that would look beautiful paired with a 'no makeup makeup look'

SHADE 40
Shade 40 is my favourite shade out of the lot. Its definitely a dupe for MAC's myth lipstick. Its a very pale tone that would look beautiful on darker skin tones, but a sheer wash of this colour on fair skin works just as well. This lipstick strangely has the least product in it. Due to the light colour, this lasts the longest on the lips. This Is the perfect lipstick for a dark black/brown smokey eye.

Overall, I really like these lipsticks and I have been using them so frequently. Each shade matches a particular skin tone, but all 3 can be used for one person. I am really impressed with the comfortable formula on the lips and the beautiful nude colours. I am disappointed with the amount of product you get, and the long levity of wear. Other than that, they are a handbag staple & a nude lovers dream.
