*Even though products were sent to me, I will always give my true opinion of the products. I will never falsely talk about products in a good light if I don't like them. Instead I will not promote them. This is because I don't want to wrongly influence genuine people, spending their genuine money on products that don't work ( in my opinion).

Hey lovers! - Unfortunately I didn't take any clear images for my blog with regards to the outfit, hair and makeup. My camera has been playing up which isn't great! But if you are interested... Here's all the information you need to know!

These items were delivered with royal mail within in a day im not even kidding. It was ridiculously fast! If you are doing some late festival chic shopping. Amelia Jane London is where you need to be!! With regards to customer service, I was so happy with the care and interest taken as well as being very informative and genuine. This also contributes to the brands fantastic reputation.

Product
Floral headband - This headband is so beautiful. From the colours to the stability of the flowers together, everything is such high quality. It fits secure onto your head. It doesn't slide off like cheap headbands, nor does it dig in to the side of your head!!! (hope you can relate). I was so besotted with the colours of the flowers as they are so subtle, they will work with almost anything. Yet an outfit wouldn't be complete without it. It's definitely a statement piece for a festival, or any occasion at that!

Bunny ear Scrunches - I found these super cute. I was sent a red and blue one. I was instantly inspired to do a 'half up, half down' do with these beauties to complete the look. They really exert that 80/90's vibe and like the floral headband, make a great companion to any outfit. These are also such good quality - and they arrive in a pack of 5 (im a poet) - what could be better?

Makeup Revolution HAUL!

Makeup Revolution HAUL!
Monday, 21 July 2014
Read post
Hello dolls! - Makeup Revolution is a fresh brand on the beauty market. If you haven't heard of them, please come out from under that rock ;) LOL! They offer a wide range of products from lipsticks to pigments, from highlighters to foundation. I have previously tested a handful of their products which can be read HERE.

I made a split purchase, where I purchased these products from Superdrug as I had some Superdrug points to spend. And the other order was placed online with makeup revolution. A blog post will be soon to follow once they arrive :)
Read below for my full review, swatches and concluding thoughts at the end!

LIPSTICKS

Starting with packaging, they are similar to MUA's lipsticks with the additional colour at the end. However, with these badboys, they unfortunately don't detach. They are very sleek and sophisticated with the gold logo and individual names. Now for the product. I am in LOVE! The formula is rich and creamy and insanely pigmented. They are also evidently glossy. When It came to wiping the product off, it took a good scrub indicating that they are potentially long lasting?? My favourite would be enchant as I am a sucker for a baby pink, but other than that I think depraved is very special!

Each lipstick cost £1.00 with 3.8g of product.

HIGHLIGHTER - PEACH LIGHTS

I have previously used the highlighter called golden lights and it's the best highlighter on the market. hands down! I decided to try peach lights to mix things up. It's a beautiful baby pink colour, and stays on all day!! It's super long wearing. I would say its not as pigmented as golden lights, but when I try it with a brush it may be different. But this is so truly beautiful. It will last a very long time!

This highlighter was very cheap at £3.00 with 7.5g of product.

MONO EYESHADOWS

Firstly, I accidently dropped the ACID! eyeshadow and it cracked slightly. I was so sad :( but this was no fault of makeup revolutions whatsoever. I thought i would point that out :) I was truly shocked at the large surface area of these products, you get sooo much it will last you forever. I love the packaging, again similar to MUA's blushes. It's so hard to pick a favourite out of these beauties. I think my favourite would be JUST ME. You cannot see how pretty this colour is. It's gold, purple and pink at the same time.

These eyeshadows are very buttery, creamy and pigmented as you can see. I was so shocked at the pigmentation of ACID! as sometimes bright neon colours can be very chalky and sheer. They are also very blendable with the colour staying put.

These mono shadows are only £1.00 with 3.3g of product.

EYE DUST - PIGMENTS

Have you noticed I love pinky neutral colours ? ;) firstly, these are little jars of heaven. The packaging is so cute and travel friendly and the product will last you such a long time. Perhaps the reason why I love pigments. The product is very light and once applied, very pigmented. They are also very rich. One thing I do find with these pure pigments, is that you need to rebuild the colour once on the eye. However this is something a primer could sort out to ensure the product stays put. I think this is partially due to the product being light. My favourite colour is easily dynamic. It's a beautiful copper/rose gold colour that will work with every eye colour.

These badboys are only £1.00 each with 1.5g of product. This doesn't seem much, but the pigment is extremely light.

Matte Palette

If theres ONE thing I haven't got in my makeup collection, it's a matte palette. And for just £4.00, makeup revolution has answered my prayers. I would say these colours are cool neutrals. They are incredibly pigmented with the lighter colours being full of saturation. Perfect for the brow bone, inner tear duct and transition colours. Some of the colours are incredibly creamy such as the darker and lighter colours, however the odd purple is rather chalky. This can be worked with though! The packaging is very sturdy and feels like an expensive product, weighing in at 14g!

Concluding Remarks

It's safe to say, I will make it my mission to own every product from makeup revolution. And with the brand pumping out new products rather quickly, I will be sure to get my hands on them! And at very cheap prices, it would be rude and inexpensive too! ;) That's another thing I love with makeup revolution, they bring out new products! With regards to customer service, their Facebook page offers every person help with an enquiry.

Makeup revolutions products have quality you couldn't even dream of. I was a  bit sceptical about placing my first order as naturally we associate a cheaper price with a lower quality of product. MR questions this completely. I would say they are high competitors with bigger, more expensive brands. I think when people want to buy expensive makeup, they feel like the expensive brand is a safety net for quality.

Golden - Purple - Smokey Eyeshadow TUTORIAL!

Golden - Purple - Smokey Eyeshadow TUTORIAL!

GET THE LOOK

TIPS BEFORE TUTORIAL: THESE MAY COME IN HANDY.

PARTS OF THE EYE: this is the mental diagram I have whilst I compete my eye makeup. It's divided into sections so it's easier to understand. IMAGE TAKEN FROM FUSION OF COLOUR. It shows the main sections of the eye as well as sub sections.

Step 1) Apply an eye primer to the eye. I don't bother with primer as concealer is just as good. I used ELF COSMETICS all over cover stick in ivory. This will give us an even coloured base as well as lightening the colour so the pigments from the shadows we will use later, will be bright!

Step 2) The best trick in the book - apply sticky tape in line with your lower lash line. What this will allow for us to do, is to create that sharp line and give us that 'gradient' effect with the shadows. It's a cheat but its useful - especially for liquid eyeliner!

Step 3) Apply MAC COSMETICS pigment in neo-orange as a transition colour. This will give us a very warm orangey colour. The transition colour is the first stage that I complete whilst doing my eye shadow. It's the colour between the eye-shadow and brow bone colour and makes the look a lot smoother. I then build on top of this colour. Blend softly so the colour isn't so harsh. For blending, you want to use a big fluffy brush. I like tapered ones because they're precise! They literally do all the hard work by ensuring the colours merge into each other.

Step 4) Apply a gold eye shadow. I'm using one from MUA COSMETICS. These are incredibly creamy on a damp synthetic brush. I ALWAYS damp the brushes I use for my eyes as this brings out the pigment in shadows and makes them incredibly rich in colour as well as longer wearing.
You're going to want to pat this all over the lid but make sure you stay within the crease. If you are unaware of where your crease is, it's usually in the middle of the eyelid. The crease falls along the socket bone of your eyeball. (eww lol). Then BLEND BLEND BLEND!

Step 5) I've applied this purple/red eye dust from BARRY M COSMETICS into the outer V of my eye. This starts the process of the Smokey eye. I chose purple because I've used warm tones throughout the look and I wanted to add a touch of purple to compliment it. and of course... you guessed it... blend! and if the colour looks like it's disappearing, blend and add more colour and then blend again. It's easier and looks better when colour is built up instead of packing it on heavy.

Step 6) Of course this part is optional, but I cannot be without my dark shadow for that dramatic look. I LOVE matte black shadow instead of a shimmer, as especially for this look, most of the finishes of the shadows I've used have been shimmer. So using a matte, it enables me to break the colours up.

Using black, you need to be seriously careful because one small slip could ruin the look! Even trickier when using very pale colours. This is where building colour is important. Add the black to the outer V as well as filling in the outer third of the eye. Blend, add colour and blend again. We want to keep this look smooth. Add this colour to your lower lash line. To smoke this out, blend it for ageeees so the colour disperses!

Step 6) Finishing touches - Remove the tape from your eye and you will see an incredibly sharp and beautiful line. I decided to add a BLACK KOHL EYELINER to the waterline, FALSE EYELASHES and my favourite liquid eyeliner in the whole world - ELF precision liquid liner.

LIP COLOURS!
RED ALERT - feeling dramatic, bold and daring? opt for a red lip. This is from MUA COSMETICS.

Keep it nude - This lip colour is the most natural out of my picks as it's battling between a pink and a nude. It's from ELF COSMETICS and is called runaway pink. I think this works beautifully as all the colours marry together.

Hued Pink - I LOVE this lipstick shade from Revlon. I think its called pouty pink. It's between a blue based purple with a baby pink. It's beautiful.
